.25 NAA
The .25 NAA is a pistol cartridge introduced by the North American Arms company in 2002. It was originally created for use in a smaller and lighter model of their Guardian pistol. Despite popular belief, the 25 NAA cartridge is not based on the 32 ACP case. It is based on a rimless version of the .32 H&R Magnum case, shortened to .745" and necked down to accept .251-inch diameter ( .25 ACP) bullets. The 32 ACP case, at only .680" long is too short for use in 25 NAA production. History and design The cartridge was originally conceived of and prototyped by gunwriter J.B. Wood, and called the "25/32 JBW". North American Arms and Cor-Bon Ammunition then further developed the cartridge, and the NAA Guardian .25 NAA pistol combination for production in consultation with Ed Sanow. Introduction The finalized cartridge and pistol were introduced at the 2004 SHOT Show. It followed the successful introduction of two other commercial bottleneck handgun cartridges, the .357 SIG in 19 ...

32 H&R Magnum
The .32 H&R Magnum, also known as the .32 Magnum, is a rimmed cartridge designed for use in revolvers. It was developed and introduced in 1984 as a joint venture between Harrington & Richardson and Federal Premium Ammunition. The .32 Magnum was designed to be more than double the speed and energy of the less powerful .32 Smith & Wesson Long cartridge, on which it is based. Loadings for the .32 H&R Magnum even typically exceed hot .38 Special +P loads in terms of both speed and energy. The .32 Magnum also has a higher maximum pressure than the .38 Special. Performance The .32 H&R Magnum offers substantially more performance than most other .32 caliber handgun cartridges, such as the .32 ACP, and is considered an effective small-game hunting cartridge. When loaded to potential, the cartridge can provide similar performance from a handgun to the traditional .32-20 from a rifle. Though not always considered normative according to modern considerations, historically, this ...

Cartridge (firearms)
A cartridge, also known as a round, is a type of pre-assembled firearm ammunition packaging a projectile ( bullet, shot, or slug), a propellant substance ( smokeless powder, black powder substitute, or black powder) and an ignition device ( primer) within a metallic, paper, or plastic case that is precisely made to fit within the barrel chamber of a breechloading gun, for convenient transportation and handling during shooting. Although in popular usage the term "bullet" is often used to refer to a complete cartridge, the correct usage only refers to the projectile. Military and commercial producers continue to pursue the goal of caseless ammunition. Some artillery ammunition uses the same cartridge concept as found in small arms. In other cases, the artillery shell is separate from the propellant charge. A cartridge without a projectile is called a '' blank''; one that is completely inert (contains no active primer and no propellant) is called a '' dummy''; one that ...

North American Arms
North American Arms is a United States company, headquartered in Provo, Utah, that manufactures pocket pistols and mini-revolvers, also called mouse guns. The company was originally named ''Rocky Mountain Arms'' when it was founded in 1972. In 1974 it was bought by new owners who renamed the company ''North American Manufacturing'' (NAM) and then ''North American Arms'' (NAA). Mini-revolvers Bicycle guns Hopkins and Allen produced a "7-shot .22 solid frame double action revolver, made between 1875 and 1907, known as the XL No. 3 Double Action small frame. The .32 Smith & Wesson Safety Hammerless of 1888 to 1892 with the 2 inch barrel became known as a 'Bicycle' gun at some point, and the First Model Ladysmith (the 1902 M Frame Model .22 Hand Ejector), was often referred to as a 'Bicycle' gun. Iver Johnson made a similar gun--the Model 1900 Double Action small frame, a 7-shot .22, which appeared in 1900 and remained in production for 41 years." NAA The mini-revolvers pr ...

25 ACP
The .25 ACP ( Automatic Colt Pistol), also known as the .25 Auto, .25 Automatic, or 6.35×16mmSR is a semi-rimmed, straight-walled centerfire pistol cartridge introduced by John Browning in 1905 alongside the Fabrique Nationale M1905 pistol. Design and history The .25 ACP was designed because .25-caliber was the smallest John Browning could go while still retaining a centerfire primer pocket, which would be more reliable for self-defense than rimfire primers. As such, the .25 ACP allows for a very compact and lightweight gun, usually a semi-automatic pocket pistol. The .25 ACP was hugely popular after its introduction, with many millions of pocket .25 "mouse guns" being offered on the market. Following the Gun Control Act of 1968, most foreign .25 pistols were too small to be imported; however, some domestic manufacturers continued to build guns in the caliber. No new .25 ACP pocket pistols have been developed in well over a decade, and it is unlikely that this will chan ...
