Gyllene Tider
Gyllene Tider (; "Golden Times") is a Swedish pop group fronted by Roxette singer, guitarist, and songwriter Per Gessle. They are one of the best-selling Swedish bands ever and have had numerous hits in Scandinavia, starting with their breakthrough song " Flickorna på TV2", in 1980. Since breaking up in 1985, the band has held regular reunions, with the latest one taking place in 2023. History In 1976, Per Gessle met Mats Persson, a member of the band Audiovisuellt Angrepp, and they formed the duo Grape Rock. They were joined by Micke Syd Andersson, Anders Herrlin, and Göran Fritzon, and the quintet was born. They changed their name to Gyllene Tider, an allusion to Mott the Hoople's song " The Golden Age of Rock 'n' Roll". In 1980, they released their self-titled debut album, which became a success in Sweden. "Flickorna på TV2" was the record's biggest hit. The band's second album, released in 1981 under the name '' Moderna Tider'', also enjoyed success and was follo ...

Moderna Tider (album)
''Moderna Tider'' (english: ''Modern Times'') is the second studio album by Swedish pop group Gyllene Tider, released on 10 March 1981 through Parlophone. In 1980, Gyllene Tider became nationally famous, with their debut album and debut single reaching number one on the Topplistan chart. Shortly after this success, the production of a follow-up album was started, with vocalist Per Gessle presenting several songs to EMI A & R man Kjell Andersson, who rejected them for being too formulaic and imitative of their debut album. Recording sessions for the album started in July 1980 at EMI Studios in Skärmarbrink, Stockholm with producer Lasse Lindbom. The bulk of the album was recorded in August 1980, wrapping up in January 1981. By that point, the album had been pre-ordered in 140,000 copies in Sweden, an impressive number at the time. Unlike the band's debut album, ''Moderna Tider'' is entirely self-composed, with the bulk of the material penned solely by Gessle, but features cr ...

Swedish Pop Music
Swedish popular music, or shortened as Swedish pop music, refers to music that has swept the Swedish mainstream at any given point in recent times. After World War II, Swedish pop music was heavily influenced by American jazz, and then by rock-and-roll from the U.S. and the U.K. in the 1950s and 1960s, before developing into dansband music. Since the 1970s, Swedish pop music has come to international prominence with bands singing in English, ranking high on the British, New Zealand, American, and Australian charts and making Sweden one of the world's top exporter of popular music by gross domestic product. History Post-war With the influx of American G.I.s into Europe in the 1940s, styles of American music seeded themselves into Swedish culture. Many Swedish ''dansorkestrar'' ("dance orchestras") played jitterbug, foxtrot, and swing music and other jazz-derived tunes for people to dance to. In the 1950s early rock and roll, as well as country music and German schlager also infus ...
