Smith's work entails presenting the sports section of the programme – both in studio and on location. He reports regularly on a number of different sports including football, rugby, golf, tennis and cricket.
Smith graduated from the
University of Aberdeen with an Honours Degree in Politics and International Relations. He then graduated from the
University of Strathclyde with a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism.

Smith gained extensive journalistic experience with Scot FM in Edinburgh, Aberdeen's Northsound Radio
Northsound Radio was the name for the original Independent Local Radio station broadcast from Aberdeen and serving the North East of Scotland. In 1995, the station split to become two separate stations.
