King Kong Lives
''King Kong Lives'' (released as ''King Kong 2'' in some countries) is a 1986 American monster adventure film directed by John Guillermin. Produced by the De Laurentiis Entertainment Group and featuring special effects by Carlo Rambaldi, the film stars Linda Hamilton and Brian Kerwin. The film is a sequel to ''King Kong'' (1976) set ten years later. This was the final Kong film in which the title character was portrayed using suits and practical effects; further films would utilize computer animation. It is the sixth entry in the ''King Kong'' franchise. Working both in the United Kingdom and the United States, he was most active in big-budget, action-adventure films throughout his lengthy career. Carlo Rambaldi
Carlo Rambaldi (September 15, 1925 – August 10, 2012) was an Italian special effects and makeup effects artist. He was the winner of three Academy Awards: one Special Achievement Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 1977 for the 1976 version of ''King Kong'' and two Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects in 1980 and 1983 for, respectively, '' Alien'' (1979) and ''E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial'' (1982).
