Wyoming House Of Representatives
The Wyoming House of Representatives is the lower house of the Wyoming Legislature, Wyoming State Legislature. There are 60 Representatives in the House, representing an equal number of single-member constituent districts across the Wyoming, state, each with a population of at least 9,000. The House convenes at the Wyoming State Capitol in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Cheyenne. Members of the House serve two year terms without term limits. Term limits were declared unconstitutional by the Wyoming Supreme Court in 2004, overturning a decade-old law that had restricted Representatives to six terms (twelve years). Marshall Burt
Marshall A. Burt (born May 6, 1976) is an American politician who served in the Wyoming House of Representatives. A member of the Libertarian Party, Burt represented the 39th district from 2021 to 2023. Burt is the first Libertarian candidate to be elected to a state legislature since Steve Vaillancourt in 2000, and the first third-party candidate elected to the Wyoming Legislature in over 100 years. Burt was defeated by Republican Cody Wylie in the 2022 Wyoming House of Representatives election. Early life and career Burt was born in Rochester, Minnesota. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served nine years in Okinawa, Japan, and in the Iraq War. He is employed by the Union Pacific Railroad as a track inspector. Robert McKim (Wyoming Politician)
Robert M. McKim (January 18, 1946 – February 19, 2018) was an American politician and a Republican former member of the Wyoming House of Representatives representing District 21 from January 2009 until his resignation on September 14, 2017, due to health reasons. He died on February 19, 2018, at the age of 72. Education McKim earned his Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University. Clark Stith
Clark Stith (born May 19, 1961) is an American politician and a Republican member of the Wyoming House of Representatives representing District 48 since June 5, 2017. Career Prior to his elevation to the Wyoming House of Representatives, Stith was Chairman of the Sweetwater County Republican Party. He was elected to the Rock Springs City Council in 2012 to replace retiring City Councilor Joyce Corcoran and was reelected in 2016. Stith resigned from the City Council after moving out of the ward. Stith has practiced law in Rock Springs since 1997. Mark Baker is an American politician and Republican member of the Wyoming House of Representatives, representing the 60th district since January 4, 2021. Baker previously served as a representative from the 48th district from January 8, 2013, until his resignation on May 15, 2017. Joe MacGuire is an American politician and a Republican member of the Wyoming House of Representatives for District 35. Elections 2016 Incumbent Republican Representative Kendell Kroeker had been elected to a fourth term in the Wyoming House of Representatives, but abruptly announced his resignation before the start of the next legislative session. Natrona County Commissioners met to choose Kroeker's replacement, narrowing the list to MacGuire, former Casper City Councilman Ed Opella, and pastor Bruce Sell. The speaker of a deliberative assembly, especially a legislative body, is its presiding officer, or the chair. The title was first used in 1377 in England. Wyoming Supreme Court
The Wyoming Supreme Court is the highest court in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The Court consists of a Chief Justice and four Associate Justices. Each Justice is appointed by the Governor of Wyoming from a list of three nominees submitted by the judicial nominating commission, for an eight-year term. One year after being appointed, a new justice stands for retention in office on a statewide ballot at the next general election. If a majority votes for retention, the justice serves the remainder of the term and may stand for retention for succeeding eight-year terms by means of a nonpartisan retention ballot every eight years. A justice must be a lawyer with at least nine years' experience in the law, at least 30 years old, and a United States citizen who has resided in Wyoming for at least three years.
