Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti
Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti ( Georgian: სამეგრელო-ზემო სვანეთი ) is a region (Mkhare) in western Georgia with a population of 308,358 (2021) and a surface of . The region has Zugdidi as its administrative center, while Giorgi Guguchia is governor of the region since June 2021. Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti is compiled of the historical Georgian provinces of Samegrelo ( Mingrelia) and Zemo Svaneti (i.e., Upper Svaneti). A ''mkhare'' ( ka, მხარე, ''mxare'') is a type of administrative division in the country of Georgia (country), Georgia. It is usually translated into English as "region". According to presidential decrees issued in 1994 and 1996, Georgia's division into regions is on a provisional basis until the secessionist conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia are resolved. The regional administration is headed by a state commissioner (სახელმწიფო რწმუნებული, ''Saxelmćipo Rćmunebuli'', usually translated as "governor"), an official appointed by the President of Georgia, president. Tsalenjikha ( ka, წალენჯიხის მუნიციპალიტეტი, ''Ċalenjixis municiṗaliṫeṫi'') is a district of Georgia (country), Georgia, in the region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Its main town is Tsalenjikha. Martvili ( ka, მარტვილის მუნიციპალიტეტი) is a district of Georgia (country), Georgia, in the region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Its main town is Martvili. Martvili Municipality is located in the north-eastern part of western Georgia. Tsalenjikha
Tsalenjikha ( ka, წალენჯიხა, also transliterated as Tsalendjikha and Tzalenjikha) is a town in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region of western Georgia with a population of 3,847 as of 2014. It is located on the river Chanistsqali.
