Johnny Beecher (ice Hockey)
Johnny Beecher (born April 5, 2001) is an American ice hockey forward for the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted 30th overall by the Bruins in the first round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He played college ice hockey for the Michigan Wolverines men's ice hockey team from 2019 to 2022. Early life Beecher was born on April 5, 2001, in Elmira, New York to parents Bill and Natasha. Although his parents were collegiate athletes, they did not play ice hockey. His father played lacrosse and golf at Elmira College while his mother ran track and cross-country at Union College. Beecher began ice skating when he was six years old after spending the summer playing roller hockey and immediately made the local travel team. John Beecher (poet)
John Beecher (January 22, 1904May 11, 1980) was an activist poet, writer, and journalist who wrote about the Southern United States during the Great Depression and the American Civil Rights Movement. Beecher was active in the American labor and civil rights movements. During the McCarthy era, Beecher lost his teaching job for refusing to sign a state loyalty oath. Following a 1967 decision of the California Supreme Court that disallowed such a loyalty oath, he was reinstated in 1977. Beecher's books include ''Report to the Stockholders'', ''To Live and Die in Dixie'', and ''In Egypt Land''.
