''Pokémon Go'' (stylized as ''Pokémon GO'') is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game, part of the ''Pokémon'' franchise, developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. It uses mobile devices with GPS to locate, capture, train, and battle virtual creatures, called Pokémon, which appear as if they are in the player's real-world location. The game is free-to-play; it uses a freemium business model combined with local advertising and supports in-app purchases for additional in-game items. The game launched with around 150 species of Pokémon, which had increased to around 700 by 2021. Go (game)
Go is an abstract strategy board game for two players in which the aim is to surround more territory than the opponent. The game was invented in China more than 2,500 years ago and is believed to be the oldest board game continuously played to the present day. A 2016 survey by the International Go Federation's 75 member nations found that there are over 46 million people worldwide who know how to play Go and over 20 million current players, the majority of whom live in East Asia. The playing pieces are called stones. One player uses the white stones and the other, black. The players take turns placing the stones on the vacant intersections (''points'') of a board. Once placed on the board, stones may not be moved, but stones are removed from the board if the stone (or group of stones) is surrounded by opposing stones on all orthogonally adjacent points, in which case the stone or group is ''captured''. Square Enix Montréal was a Canadian video game developer based in Montreal. It created the ''Go'' series of turn-based puzzle games for mobile devices based on former Eidos Interactive intellectual properties. Square Enix Montréal was founded in November 2011 as a traditional studio under Square Enix Europe. Initially planning to create a new ''Hitman'' series game for consoles and employ several hundred people, its mandate changed in 2013 when it became its parent company's choice studio to produce mobile games. Gossaum
''Gossaum'' () is a traditional Korean sport played in Chilseok village, Nam-gu as part of the New Year's celebrations. It is designated an Important Intangible Cultural Property. It is played by two teams, each of which carries a Go, a large, braided straw structure. The objective is for one team to drive the other's Go to the ground. The name is derived from "go" ("loop", literally, the looped knot of a coat string) and "sseum" ("fight"). In 2002 the game was commemorated on a postage stamp. Setup Go Each Go is around 15m long, and consists of a large straw loop at the end of a long, thick cylinder, supported on poles. Two "tails", at the opposite end of the structure from the loop, serve to provide a rudimentary steering mechanism. ''Go Karts'', also known as ''Go!'', is a 2019 Australian teen Coming-of-age film, coming-of-age sports drama film directed by Owen Trevor on his feature film directorial debut. The film stars William Lodder, Frances O'Connor and Richard Roxburgh in the lead roles. It resembled similar to the storyline of 2010 Japanese martial arts drama film ''The Karate Kid (2010 film), The Karate Kid''. ''Go!'' is a studio album by jazz musician Dexter Gordon featuring Sonny Clark, Butch Warren and Billy Higgins, recorded on August 27, 1962 and released in the same year on Blue Note. According to the liner notes by Ira Gitler, this session was "not recorded in a nightclub performance but, in its informal symmetry, it matches the relaxed atmosphere that the best of those made in that manner engender. Everyone was really together, in all the most positive meanings of that word." It was recorded by Rudy Van Gelder at the Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs. Since its release, ''Go!'' has received very positive reviews from critics, with AllMusic giving it a five star rating.
