Community Development Council
The Community Development Council (CDC; ms, Majlis Pembangunan Masyarakat; zh, 社区发展理事会; ta, சமூக மேம்பாட்டு மன்றம்) is a government-led programme to organise grassroot organisations and community programs into smaller, local units as a bridge between the government and the community in Singapore. It encourages volunteerism from wider community, and organises community and social assistance programs with the help of a monetary grant from the government. They are governed by the ''Community Development Council Rules 1997''. Organisation There are currently five Community Development Councils as of 27 July 2020: The council boundaries follow that of the existing political divisions, with each handling between four and six GRCs and SMCs and roughly dividing the country's population into equal parts. It especially focuses its attention on infectious disease, food borne pathogens, environmental health, occupational safety and health, health promotion, injury prevention and educational activities designed to improve the health of United States citizens. The CDC also conducts research and provides information on non-infectious diseases, such as obesity and diabetes, and is a founding member of the International Association of National Public Health Institutes.

Hougang SMC
The Hougang Single Member Constituency is a single member constituency (SMC) located in the north-eastern area of Singapore. Its current Member of Parliament is Dennis Tan Lip Fong of the Workers' Party (WP). History The constituency was first formed prior to the 1988 general election and was won by the People's Action Party (PAP) in its debut. However, PAP's representation of Hougang SMC would only last three years, when it lost the seat to Low Thia Khiang after an almost 12% swing to the Workers' Party (WP) during the 1991 general election. From 1991 to 2011, it was one of only two opposition-held (i.e. non-PAP) seats in Parliament. Low contested in Aljunied Group Representation Constituency (GRC) – and won – during the 2011 general election, and was succeeded by Yaw Shin Leong, who retained the seat by defeating PAP candidate Desmond Choo with 65% of the vote. South West Community Development Council
The South West Community Development Council is one of five Community Development Councils (CDCs) set up across the Republic of Singapore to aid in local administration of governmental policies and schemes. They are funded in part by the government although they are free to engage in fund-raising activities. The South West Community Development Council (CDC) was formed on 24 November 2001. Spanning the south-western region of Singapore, covering a third of its land area. The District has about 220,000 households with over 750,000 residents. The MacPherson Single Member Constituency is a single member constituency located in the central area of Singapore. The current Member of Parliament for the constituency is Tin Pei Ling of the People's Action Party (PAP). The East Coast Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency in the eastern area of Singapore. The Bukit Panjang Single Member Constituency is a Single Member Constituency (SMC) located in the western area of Singapore. The current Member of Parliament for the constituency is Liang Eng Hwa of the People's Action Party (PAP) . History The seat consists the main portion of Bukit Panjang (Blks 101-129, 2xx and 4xx Fajar) and was reformed in the 2006 electoral boundary redraw.
