Billy (Black Christmas)
Billy is a fictional character from the ''Black Christmas'' film series. He first appeared in '' Black Christmas'' (1974), as a deranged murderer who taunts and kills a group of college students during the Christmas season. Created by Bob Clark and A. Roy Moore, the character was partly inspired by the urban legend "The Babysitter and the Man Upstairs", as well as a series of real murders in Montreal during the 1943 holiday season. Several members of the cast and crew would portray and voice the character in the original film, such as Nick Mancuso, who performed the voices for the phone calls, while cameraman Albert J. Dunk performed Billy's POV shots and director Clark portrays both the villain's shadow and the phone voices. Neither the character nor his portrayers would be listed in the end credits. Billy (commonly known as Jigsaw or combined name Billy Jigsaw) is a puppet that has appeared in the ''Saw'' franchise. It was used by John "Jigsaw" Kramer to communicate with his test subjects by delivering recorded messages, often appearing on a television screen, or occasionally in person, to describe the details of the traps and the means by which the test subjects could survive. In the film series, before becoming the Jigsaw Killer, John created a puppet similar to Billy to be given as a toy to his unborn child. However, Jill Tuck, his wife, is shown to miscarry after being hit in the stomach by a swinging hospital door due to Cecil Adams ramming it open without looking. Billy (pygmy Hippo)
Billy, or William Johnson Hippopotamus, (Before 1927 – October 11, 1955) was a pygmy hippopotamus given to U.S. President Calvin Coolidge. Captured in Liberia, he was given to Coolidge by Harvey Samuel Firestone in 1927. Billy spent most of his life in the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. In addition to his fame as an exotic presidential pet—which afforded him a trip to the 1939 New York World's Fair—Billy is also notable as the common ancestor to most pygmy hippos in American zoos. By the time of his death in 1955, Billy had sired 23 calves, 13 of whom survived at least a year. ''Billy'' is a 1990 novel by Whitley Strieber. The novel tells the story of the abduction of a child and the terror of his experience. Plot summary Barton Royal is an overweight man in his 40s who is obsessed with boys. He lives in Los Angeles but travels out of state to find and abduct a suitable young boy so he can be his "father". When he spots 12-year-old Billy Neary in an Iowa shopping mall, he follows the boy home, abducts him late that night, and drives back to California with Billy strapped into the back of his Aerostar minivan.
