Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Leila Diniz
Leila Roque Diniz (25 March 1945 – 14 June 1972) was a Brazilian television, film and stage actress, whose liberal ideas and attitudes about sex had raised the discontent of both the feminists and the Brazilian military government of the 1960s. She died on 14 June 1972, aged 27, at the peak of fame, in the aircraft accident of Japan Air Lines Flight 471 near New Delhi, India. Biography Born in a middle-class family and the daughter of a communist activist, Leila worked as a kindergarten teacher at age 15. At age 17, she met movie director Domingos de Oliveira, with whom she lived until age 21. Between 1962 and 1964 she had minor roles on stage. In 1965, Diniz started working in television, where she made several ''telenovelas'' and various commercials. In 1967, she also started to make movies. In 1969, she gave an interview to the satirical newspaper O Pasquim during which she said: "It's possible to love one person and go to bed with another. It has happened to me." ...

Miriam de Souza Pires (20 April 1927 – 7 September 2004) was a Brazilian actress. She acted in over 40 telenovelas, including prominent roles in ''Irmãos Coragem'', ''Pecado Capital'', ''Gabriela'', '' Pedra sobre Pedra'', ''Sonho Meu'', and '' O Casarão''. Having won the Festival de Brasília Best Supporting Actress Award in 1978 for ''A Summer Rain'', Pires acted in twelve films during her career.
