History

The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1394, but the church was not built that day. The first church at Ullern was a wooden stave church that was likely built during the 12th century. In 1623, the old church was torn down and replaced with a new building on the same site. In 1730, the church was torn down and replaced with a new building on the same site. By the 1860s, the church was too small for the parish, so plans were again made to replace the church with a new building. The
