The format of this competition fluctuates annually. Mainly the competition is limited to the professional level clubs.


History

The first cup competition was held in 1992. The winner where
Dynamo Kyiv Football Club Dynamo Kyiv (, ) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Kyiv. Founded in 1927 as a Kyivan football team of republican branch of the bigger Soviet Dynamo Sports Society, the club as a separate business entity was officia ...
who also won the national league that year. Starting from 1996 and until 2011 the cup consisted of only few matches due to lack of participants. In 2000 the competition was scratched completely.
