This team was founded at the initiative of the State Government and the Autonomous University of Chihuahua in 2006, having its debut in the 2006 Apertura tournament. During its first two tournaments the desired results were not met and there was the possibility of team division relegation. For the Apertura 2007, Dorados moved into the UACH University Olympic Stadium, which has a capacity of 22.000 spectators and has synthetic grass and a giant screen, making it one of the best in the north of the country.
