Dorados De Chihuahua
Dorados de Chihuahua (English: Chihuahua Goldens) are a refounded baseball team from the city of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Chihuahua. Recently, the Tuneros de San Luis moved to Chihuahua and took the Dorados namesake, which also brought the LMB (AAA) Liga Mexicana de Beisbol, Mexican Baseball League to Chihuahua for the first time since 1982. The Dorados played their home games at Estadio Chihuahua. The Dorados will be sold to either Nuevo Laredo or Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes for the 2011–2012 season. Francisco "Pancho" Villa (,"Villa" ''Collins English Dictionary''. ; ; born José Doroteo Arango Arámbula, 5 June 1878 – 20 July 1923) was a general in the Mexican Revolution. Arizona–Mexico League
The Arizona–Mexico League was a Minor League Baseball league in the southwestern U.S. and northwestern Mexico, that operated as an affiliated Class C league that existed from 1955–58, and then again in 2003 as an independent baseball league. The Mexican Center League was a Class C Minor League Baseball circuit that operated in 1956 and 1957. History By 1955, the outlaw Mexican League was struggling for survival during its confrontation against Major League Baseball. As a result, Anuar Canavati, president of the Sultanes de Monterrey team, led a group of new owners that helped make the league part of Organized Baseball as a Class AA circuit in 1955. Southwest International League
The Southwest International League was a minor league baseball league that operated from 1951 through 1952. The league was formed through the merger of the Sunset League and Arizona–Texas League in 1951. The league hosted franchises based in Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada and Texas. History Formed in 1951 by a merger of the Sunset League and Arizona-Texas League, the Southwest International League played two seasons as a Class C level league. In 1951, the Tijuana players went on strike over not being paid on a regular basis. In 1952, the league fielded an all-black team, which was originally supposed to play half of its games in the US and half in Mexico, but eventually settled in Porterville, California as the Porterville Comets. Sunset League
The Sunset League was a minor league baseball circuit that operated from 1947 through 1950. The Sunset League was a Class C level league, with franchises based in the United States and Mexico. The league expanded from six to eight teams from 1949 to 1950. There was a previous league called the "Sunset League" that briefly played in Texas in the 1902 season. For the 1951 season, the circuit merged with the Arizona–Texas League to form the Southwest International League. The Arizona–Texas League was a Class D level American minor league baseball league that existed for nine seasons, from 1931–32, 1937–41, 1947–50 and 1952-54. Mexican National League
The Mexican National League was a professional baseball circuit that operated briefly in 1946. It was officially ranked as a Class B league in Organized Baseball and included six clubs that represented the cities of Mexico, Chihuahua, Ciudad Juárez, El Paso, Saltillo, and Torreón–Gómez Palacio. But it was to be a short-lived experiment because of a strong competition from an independent Mexican League, created by a multi-millionaire Jorge Pasquel, who attempted to turn his baseball circuit into a first-rate rival to the Major Leagues, which forced the Class B regional league to fold. As a result, the Mexico and Torreón-Gómez Palacio clubs disbanded in late April and the Mexican National League closed its operations on May 27. By then, the Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua teams were tied in first place with an identical record of 23 wins and 21 losses.
