History

Early operational

Along with corridor 2, corridor 3 was inaugurated on January 15, 2006 which received high enthusiasm from the people. It was targeted that there would be 71 new bus fleets serving corridor 3 and 2 on April 2006, or three months after the first day of operational. Corridor 3 was originally serving the route from

24-hour service

Corridor 1, 3, and 9 were the first TransJakarta corridors to began 24-hour services starting on June 1, 2014. At the time, the bus only stops at certain stations. Sometime later, all bus stops are served by buses 24 hours a day, so the bus currently stops at all stations.

Bus station revitalization

On December 16, 2020, to improve service quality, one of the BRT stations on Corridor 3, namely the Pasar Baru BRT Station (as the terminus of corridor 3 until it was temporarily moved to

The Pasar Baru bus station renovation marked the start of the revitalization of 46 TransJakarta bus shelters in 2022. As the follow-up of the revitalized Pasar Baru bus station, the Jembatan Gantung bus station was also temporarily closed for revitalization since September 5, 2022 and the Kalideres bus station on the next day (September 6, 2022). The revitalized Jembatan Gantung bus station was reopened on April 6, 2023, followed by Kalideres on July 23, 2023. Later on June 1, 2023, Jembatan Baru bus station was also closed for revitalization and Grogol 1 two days later. Jembatan Baru station was reopened on October 21, 2023. Grogol 2 station was reopened to the public on November 4, 2023.

Temporary readjustment

Starting on March 4, 2023, as the impact of the Jakarta MRT Phase 2A construction, the Harmoni Central bus station which serves corridor 1, 2, 3, and 8, was temporarily moved its operational into a temporary building with limited capacity that can only serves corridor 1 passengers. The Pasar Baru bus station becomes the temporary terminus of corridor 8. To prevent overcapacity of the Pasar Baru bus station due to high density of corridor 3 and 8 passengers, TransJakarta decided to temporarily move the terminus of corridor 3 to the Bundaran HI bus station, so the bus do not stop at Pecenongan, Juanda, and Pasar Baru bus stations. However on May 29, 2023, the terminus was moved to Monumen Nasional bus station. TransJakarta also operates Corridor 3H (Jelambar– Kota) to serve corridor 3 passengers who wanted to go to
