(ÖGB). Hundstorfer was from December 2008 to January 2016 the Federal Minister for Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection. Since 1966 Hundstorfer worked as civil servant for the City of Vienna (''Magistrat''). He graduated from the ''Bundesgymnasium'' for professionals in 1976 (''Matura''). The following year he graduated as an administration official (''Beamtenaufstiegsprüfung''). From the early 1970s he was active in the Union of Municipal Employees (GDG), of which he was chairman from May 2003 on.Official biography
