Though ''Pony Life'' is a reboot, this series has no continuity with ''Friendship Is Magic''; this allows for the existence of new characters such as Pinkie Pie's brother Octavio Pie, as well as the adapting out of certain other characters from the original series.

in the United States on June 13, 2020, but it was postponed to a later date in the summer of that year. However, on October 12, 2020, a promo revealed that the show would be premiering on Discovery Family on November 7, 2020. Clips of several episodes have also been uploaded to the MLP YouTube channel. On September 10, 2020, it was officially announced that it would be released on YouTube at an unspecified date, listed as coming "soon".
