''Pectobacterium wasabiae'' is a plant pathogenic bacterium that was first reported to cause disease on wasabi plants. A closely related species, yet to be formally named, also causes disease on potato. Unlike most ''Pectobacterium'', ''P. wasabiae'' strains lack a type III secretion system.
