An accomplished poet, Herran won the Els Jocs Florals prize for Catalan poetry three years in a row, and he was also named Mestre en Gai Saber. His first novel ''Manuel Bergman'' appeared in 2018. A second novel ''Mientras pudimos'' followed in 2020.
