Origin of the name
The name ''Ngaatjatjarra'' derives from the word ''ngaatja'' 'this' which, combined with the comitative suffix ''-tjarra'' means something like ' ''ngaatja''-having'. This distinguishes it from its near neighbour Ngaanyatjarra which has ''ngaanya'' for 'this'.Sign language
