As Operational Commander of 1st Para-Commando Battalion as Brig Gen, Rahman led Operation Thunderbolt during the Holey Artisan attack. Holey Artisan The rescue operation was ordered by the Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and was named Operation Thunderbolt. The operation was led by 1st Para-Commando Battalion under the leadership of Operational Commander Brig Gen Mujibur Rahman. Nearly 12 hours after the attack, the operation was declared over by Rahman. The operation ended with rescue of 13 hostages and 5 terrorists were killed while the 6th one was captured alive. On 31 July 2018, he was promoted to Major General. He took over the command of SSF on 6 August 2018. Since then he resides at the Ganabhaban along with the Prime Minister and has been accompanying her on her events and foreign visits.


Personal life

He is married to Mrs Tasrin Mujib. The couple has two sons and one daughter.
