Career

Islam became a lawyer of the District Courts in 1982. He joined the judicial branch of the Bangladesh Civil Service on 22 February 1984 and was appointed Munsif. In May 2003, Islam, then judge of the 5th Additional District and Sessions Court in Dhaka, sentenced three to seven years imprisonment for filing a false case under the Acid Control Act and ordered an investigation against the police officer who investigated the case.
