He finished elementary school, and high school in 1937, in Sarajevo. He, then, graduated in 1942 at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, where he received his doctorate in 1965, with the thesis ''Legal position of Sarajevo in the Ottoman Empire until 1850''.
