Features and access
The mountain has a plateau
In geology and physical geography, a plateau (; ; ), also called a high plain or a tableland, is an area of a highland consisting of flat terrain that is raised sharply above the surrounding area on at least one side. Often one or more sides ha ...
and has mining exploration tracks that lead to some of the older workings. It was possible in the 1970s to travel to the top of Mount Darwin in four wheel drive vehicles. The tracks also lead over towards the Clark River Valley which lies between Darwin and Mount Sorell to the west, and some tracks also were made on the ridge between Mount Darwin and the southern side of Mount Jukes.
Additional features located adjacent to the mountain includes a series of valleys and depressions called respectively the East Darwin Cirque, the South Darwin Cirque, and the Darwin Crater
