''Matinta'' is a genus of South American jumping spiders (family Salticidae). The largest number of species are found in Brazil.


Taxonomy

''Matinta'' was first described by G. R. S. Ruiz, Wayne Paul Maddison & María Elena Galiano in 2019. A re-examination of the holotype of the type species of the genus '' Mago'' showed that the genus had been misinterpreted, so that species had been included in the genus that did not fit the diagnosis. Accordingly, Ruiz ''et al.'' created a new genus, ''Matinta'', to which most of the former ''Mago'' genera were transferred. ''Matinta'', like ''Mago'', was placed in the tribe Amycini, part of the
