Brant Bjork
Brant Bjork (born March 19, 1973) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He is best known as the drummer and founder of the influential Californian stoner rock band Kyuss. Bjork has also been a member of Fu Manchu, Mondo Generator and Vista Chino, the latter with former Kyuss members John Garcia and Nick Oliveri. He is currently the frontman and co-founder of the stoner rock power trio, Stöner. Bjork is one of the more notable figures in the stoner rock and Palm Desert scene and maintains a prolific solo career with over a dozen released albums. Musical career Kyuss While still in high school, Bjork got together with friends Chris Cockrell, Nick Oliveri, Josh Homme and John Garcia in 1987 to form a band called Katzenjammer. Dave Catching
David Catching (born June 7, 1961) is an American musician from Memphis, Tennessee. He is a founding member of the California stoner rock bands earthlings? from 1993–present, and Queens of the Stone Age from 1996-2000, a former touring member of Eagles of Death Metal from 2003-2017 and the current operator of the Rancho De La Luna recording studio. Career Catching has played the guitar for well-known hard rock bands Eagles of Death Metal, Queens of the Stone Age, Tex and the Horseheads, as well as Mark Lanegan, The Ringling Sisters, earthlings?, Mondo Generator and the Masters of Reality, Yellow #5, and Gnarltones. Molly McGuire
Molly McGuire is a Canadian musician and visual artist based in New Orleans. As a visual artist, she works under the moniker "Magwire" and frequently features at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. As a musician, McGuire has performed and recorded with various acts, including Queens of the Stone Age, Mondo Generator, Mark Lanegan, Martina Topley-Bird, Nick Oliveri and Frank Black. Musical career Originally from Ontario, Canada, McGuire relocated to New Orleans where she met guitarist Dave Catching. Rancho De La Luna
Rancho De La Luna is a recording studio in Joshua Tree, California, founded in 1993 by Fred Drake and David Catching. After Drake's death in 2002, the studio was operated by David Catching and Drake's collaborators Tony Mason, Ted Quinn, Dean Chamberlain, Billy Bizeau and Fred Burke until 2004. It has since doubled as Catching's home, where he serves as engineer, producer, guest musician and chef for artists. The studio is cited as everything in it being "weird and wonderful but functional", filled with vintage and new idiosyncratic recording gear and a raw desert vibe curated by studio founders Drake and Catching. Billy Roberts
William Moses Roberts Jr. (August 16, 1936 – October 7, 2017) was an American songwriter and musician credited with composing the 1960s rock music standard "Hey Joe." Biography Roberts attended the Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina but left school for the life of an itinerant musician. He learned to play the 12-string guitar and blues harmonica, on which he claimed to have been tutored by Sonny Terry. In the early 1960s he went to New York's Greenwich Village where he busked on the street and played in coffeehouses. It was there that he composed the song "Hey, Joe," which he copyrighted in 1962. Early the same year, after a brief and turbulent marriage, Roberts traveled to Reno, Nevada to obtain a divorce. After that, he went to San Francisco where he again played in coffeehouses. The Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in the New York City neighborhood Forest Hills, Queens in 1974. Known for helping establish the punk movement in the United States and elsewhere, the Ramones are often recognized as one of the first bands of the genre. "Hey Joe" is a song from the 1960s that has become a rock standard and been performed in many musical styles by hundreds of different artists. The lyrics are from the point of view of a man on the run and planning to escape to Mexico after shooting his unfaithful wife. In 1962, Billy Roberts registered "Hey Joe" for copyright in the United States. ''Saved by Magic'' is the debut double LP released by stoner rock band Brant Bjork and the Bros, and the fifth solo album by Brant Bjork. The album was released on August 1, 2005, by Bjork's personal label, Duna Records. In September 2023, the album was re-released by Heavy Psych Sounds Records as two separate albums under the new title, ''Saved by Magic Again''.
