in 1953. He also played professionally for

and Tranmere Rovers before returning to Wigan Athletic (then in the Cheshire League) in 1964, where he made a further 41 appearances. In 1965, he signed for Altrincham where he made 84 league appearances in three seasons with the club (119 appearances in all competitions). He left the club at the end of the 1967–68 season and joined Netherfield. Campbell died on 10 November 2019, aged 84.BCF Former Players
