Career

Matela played college basketball at Bowling Green State University. He went undrafted in the 2002 NBA draft. He arrived in Europe in 2002 signing with
Mitteldeutscher BC Mitteldeutscher Basketball Club ( en, Central German Basketball Club), for sponsorship reasons named SYNTAINICS MBC, and commonly known as MBC, is a professional basketball club based in Weißenfels, Germany. The club currently plays in the Baske ...
of Germany. He later played his whole career in Belgium with Antwerp Giants,
