. It is named after the Syed Shah Barkatullah, a 16th-century Sufi saint. The Khanquah was built by Nawab Muhammad Bangash Khan, then and first Nawab of Farrukhabad. There are seven shrines of different Sufi saints of Quadri Barkati order. It is one of the top known and visited Qadiriyya order shrines in India. There are the shrines of Syed Shah Barkatullah (1070AH-1142AH), Syed Shah Aal-e-Muhammad (1111AH-1164AH), Syed Shah Hamza (1131AH-1198AH), Syed Shah Aal-e-Ahmed Ache Miyan (1160-1235), Syed Shah Aal-e-Barkaat Suthre Miyan (1163AH-1251AH), Syed Shah Aal-e-Rasool Ahmadi (1209AH-1296AH), Syed Shah Abul Hussain Ahmad Noori Miyan (1255AH-1324AH).
