Herrera started his career at Centro Español, making his debut in the 2009–10 Primera D match against Victoriano Arenas. He made 21 appearances in the 2010–11 season, mostly as a substitute, and scored 2 goals. His team ended in the fifth position and made it to the play-off finals, being defeated by
