Sir John William Denys Margetson (9 October 1927 – 17 October 2020) was a British diplomat who served as ambassador to Vietnam, the United Nations, and the Netherlands.


Early life

Margetson was the younger son of the Very Rev.

In 1963, Margetson married Miranda, daughter of

. They had a son and a daughter. Margetson died on 17 October 2020, at the age of 93.
