Bohan captained Hawthorn in 1944 and 1946 and despite playing with the club for almost a decade, he never once appeared in a finals match. He won Hawthorn's 'Best and Fairest' award in 1943 and 1945. In a match against Vehicle Park in Albury in September 1945, Bohun kicked 20 goals. He then left the club without a clearance in 1947 to join VFA side
