Jean-Claude Pennetier (born 16 May 1942) is a French classical pianist.

Biography

Born in Châtellerault, Pennetier began studying the piano at the age of three and later entered the

Conservatoire de Paris The Conservatoire de Paris (), also known as the Paris Conservatory, is a college of music and dance founded in 1795. Officially known as the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), it is situated in the avenue ...

in piano and chamber music classes. After having passed several international competitions, he began a solo career which led him to perform abroad. In the early 1970s, he temporarily interrupted this career to devote himself to composition and conducting. He also took advantage of this period to deepen his repertoire and his reflection on music. He became interested in musical theatre, writing operas for children, the pianoforte. He is also passionate about chamber music and contemporary classical music. He conducts the
