in 2016 and was elected in November 2016. He was sworn in six days early, on January 3, 2017, after his predecessor resigned. In the Senate, Zeiger served as the Republican lead on Housing Stability and Affordability Committee and the State Government, Tribal Relations and Elections Committee. He also serves as a member of the Human Services, Re-entry and Rehabilitation Committee and the Transportation Committee.
Civic involvement
In 2007, Zeiger began a project to document the stories of Puyallup's World War II veterans.
His civic and volunteer activities have included the boards of the Washington State Historical Society, the South Hill Historical Society, the William D. Ruckelshaus Center, Mainstream Republicans of Washington, and the Pierce County Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board.
In 2015, Zeiger was awarded the Gabrielle Giffords Award for Civility in State Government at the meeting of the
National Conference of State Legislators
