, who received large grants of land from the

Because this is the only main public road, it is aligned with the residents' mansions and commonly called " Millionaires' Mile" by both local residents and visitors alike. 2010 census

As of 2010, there were 2,224 households, out of which 49.1% were vacant. In 2000, 3.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.2% were married couples living together, 3.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 45.7% were non-families. 40.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 24.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.69 and the average family size was 2.13. In 2000, the town population was spread out, with 3.2% under the age of 18, 1.1% from 18 to 24, 10.7% from 25 to 44, 34.0% from 45 to 64, and 51.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 65 years. For every 100 females, there were 81.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 79.9 males. In 2000, the median income for a household in the town was $52,159, and the median income for a family was $70,163. Males had a median income of $61,974 versus $40,089 for females. The
