He had been expected to get a $2–4 million raise in his first year of arbitration eligibility.

Los Angeles Dodgers

On March 23, 2022, Alberto signed a one-year contract for $1.6 million with the

He also pitched in 10 games, allowing five runs in 11 innings and setting a major league record for most pitching appearances by a position player in a season. On November 8, 2022, the Dodgers declined Alberto's 2023 option, making him a free agent.
