Gawdin has represented Team British Columbia at the 2012 Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup where he won a gold medal. He later competed with Team Pacific at the 2014 World U-17 Hockey Challenge where he helped them win silver. The following year, Gawdin was named to Team Canada's junior team to compete in the

Gawdin was born on March 25, 1997, to parents Bryan and Yvonne. His father Bryan passed away in 2022. Gawdin played both ice hockey and
