(English: Women's first division) is the second-tier basketball competition among clubs in Iceland.


History

The league was founded 1984 and until 2005 it was known as (English: Women's second division). On 13 March 2020, the rest of the 2019–20 season was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak in Iceland.


Format

The team with the best record is crowned first division champion. The top two teams then play a best–of–three playoff for a promotion to the Úrvalsdeild.
