His manner of expression varied from figurative sculpture with the human body as a source of inspiration to abstract and non-figurative works in steel and other metals. Most of his sculptures are formed of welded copper and steel, a technique he has achieved by working with scrap iron. He participated in a number of solo and group exhibits in Norway and abroad, and, among other venues, he took part in the Autumn Exhibition several times from 1958 to 1977 and in the Southern Norway Exhibition () six times, from 1970 to 1975.
