Release and promotion

While celebrating her 25th birthday on March 3, 2022, Cabello confirmed that the album would be released on April 8, and posted its cover artwork on the same day. Preorders for the album began the same day. On March 11, the singer posted handwritten notes and photos fashioned in a scrapbook-style booklet from the journal that is included on the deluxe version of ''Familia''. In it, Cabello details her journey with anxiety, something that therapy helped her work through. On March 28 and 29, Cabello posted snippets of two songs from the album on her social media.
