The university initiated a bachelor's course in Dental Surgery in 2005, while the Faculty of Pharmacy was established at the University in 2006. It is the first university in Gujarat to obtain the permission to start Nanotechnology courses in 2012. The university was granted the permission by Medical Council of India, to start new Medical college from the academic year 2019–20.
