History

Construction was completed in 1929 according to the designs of the French architect Pierre Jabin. It was designed to seat 1,350 spectators. . Movie theaters became less important with the spread of technology allowing people to watch movies at home for cheaper, but Cinema Rialto still attracts visitors and tourists. Cinema Rialto was operated and owned by the Bouchentouf family since the 1950s, and it is still operational today. Specifically the movie theater was acquired by Belyout Bouchentouf.
