When Highway 190 was decommissioned, Highway 121 was rerouted along Lyndale Avenue South from West 50th Street to West 58th Street, then turned over to Hennepin County maintenance when Highway 121 was shortened to the freeway stub from the intersection of Lyndale Avenue South and West 58th Street to the interchange of Interstate 35W and State Highway 62 ( MN 62) at the Minneapolis / Richfield city boundary line.
