Hennepin County Road 122 (CR 122) or County State-Aid Highway 122 (CSAH 122) is an unsigned county state-aid highway within the city of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States, crossing the Mississippi River on the Washington Avenue Bridge. Route description County 122 connects the East Bank and West Bank of the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis campus. On the East Bank, CR 122 follows Washington Avenue and is the primary route through the Stadium Village district of the University. On the West Bank, CR 122 follows a short freeway, with exits to Cedar Avenue and Interstate 35W (I-35W), that feeds into 3rd Street and 4th Street in downtown Minneapolis. Interstate 94 (I-94) in the US state of Minnesota runs east–west through the central portion of the state. The highway connects the cities of Moorhead, Fergus Falls, Alexandria, St. Cloud, Minneapolis, and Saint Paul. Authorized in 1956, it was mostly constructed in the 1960s. Route description I-94 enters the state from North Dakota at the city of Moorhead and heads southeast after serving Moorhead. County Roads In Hennepin County, Minnesota
Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States maintains a number of county roads, many of them county state aid highways (CSAH). This includes a number of streets through the city of Minneapolis. CR 1–CR 25 County Road 1 serves Bloomington and Eden Prairie. On its east end, it starts as 24th Avenue South, at Interstate 494, and heads south adjacent to the Mall of America. It then continues as Old Shakopee Road (and a short bit of 98th Street) for the rest of its route through the south side of Bloomington. Old Shakopee Road was once an Indian trail connecting Fort Snelling with Shakopee. Many of the structures in Bloomington's history were built on Old Shakopee Road, including the town hall (1892), the Baillif hotel and store, and a Grange hall. Third Avenue Bridge (Minneapolis)
The Third Avenue Bridge is a landmark structure of the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, originally known as the St. Anthony Falls Bridge. It carries road traffic across the Mississippi River and upper fringes of Saint Anthony Falls. The multi-arched bridge meets with Third Avenue in downtown Minneapolis at its south end, but curves as it crosses the river, and connects with Central Avenue on its north end. The shallow "S" curve in the bridge was built to avoid fractures in the limestone bedrock that supports the bridge piers. The road is also designated Minnesota State Highway 65. Construction began in 1914, and it opened four years later in 1918. The bridge, which uses Melan arches of an open spandrel design, has been modified since that time. Hennepin Avenue is a major street in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. It runs from Lakewood Cemetery (at West 36th Street), north through the Uptown District of Southwest Minneapolis, through the Virginia Triangle, the former "Bottleneck" area west of Loring Park. It then goes through the North Loop in the city center, to Northeast Minneapolis and the city's eastern boundary, where it becomes Larpenteur Avenue as it enters Lauderdale in Ramsey County at Highway 280.
