History

The school was first founded in
Sichuan Sichuan (; zh, c=, labels=no, ; zh, p=Sìchuān; alternatively romanized as Szechuan or Szechwan; formerly also referred to as "West China" or "Western China" by Protestant missions) is a province in Southwest China occupying most of the ...
in 1938. In 1946, it moved to Changshu and changed its name to Jiangsu Provincial High School of Changshu. And in 1953 it chose Changshu High School of Jiangsu Province as its name. In 1990, it was regarded as the first batch of qualified and key high schools by the
Jiangsu Provincial Education Commission Jiangsu (; ; pinyin: Jiāngsū, alternatively romanized as Kiangsu or Chiangsu) is an eastern coastal province of the People's Republic of China. It is one of the leading provinces in finance, education, technology, and tourism, with its ca ...
