In order to meet the requirements to become a municipality, Bodebarsain merged Phulkahi, Manraja, Khadgapur, Deuri, Kachan, Sarashwar, Phulkahi, Negada and Dhanagadi VDC with itself. Bodebarsain spreads over an approximate area of and comprises 10 wards. According to 2011 census, the city had a population of 43,229.
