Early years

Lynch attended Dartmouth High School in

. He is the grandson of legendary Football Coach and Athletic Director Carlin Lynch, who coached at Dartmouth High School for 36 years. During his tenure, Carlin Lynch achieved an impressive record of 202-79-9, winning 14 league championships and completing 6 undefeated seasons with 5 Super Bowl appearances, of his team team emerged victorious in 4. After his grandfather's passing in 2019, Lynch fondly described his grandfather as the "single greatest man he'd ever met."


High School Career

Lynch had the opportunity to play under his grandfather's successor, Rich White, who himself played for Coach Lynch during Dartmouth's victorious Super Bowl campaigns in 1983 and 1984. In Lynch's junior season, he primarily served as a blocker for the talented

After the 2011 season, Orson Charles, the All-American tight end, decided to enter the NFL Draft, creating an opportunity for Lynch to step into the starting. Leading up to the 2012 season, Lynch had primarily been utilized as a blocking tight end. However, as the season progressed, he showcased his abilities as a reliable pass catcher. Throughout the 2012 season, Lynch played in 14 games, starting in 13 of them. He emerged as a productive target in the passing game, recording 24 receptions for 431 yards and 3 touchdowns.
