Born in Ireland, Emakhu is of Nigerian descent. He has played for the Republic of Ireland at under-19 youth level, scoring on his debut in October 2021. Emakhu scored his first goal for the Republic of Ireland U21 side in a 3–0 win over Kuwait U22 in a friendly on 19 June 2023.
