. It comprises one species, ''Acrocarpus fraxinifolius'', the pink cedar, a large deciduous emergent tree native to Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal and Thailand. Its also known as Balangi or Kurungatti in India.
